Club Rides

PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NEW RIDERS

To enjoy the experience of group riding you need to be moderately fit and in possession of a suitable road bike. Riders need to bring with them the following items when joining any of our rides:

A mechanically sound bike (full length mudguards + rear flap on wet rides).
A certified cycle helmet and suitable cycling clothing.
At least one spare inner tube (two preferably), tyre levers and a working pump.
A drinks bottle with energy/hydration solution (maybe two for longer rides).
An energy bar or food high in carbohydrates.

If cold or wet weather is likely, a waterproof top, gloves, overshoes and a skull cap (for those of us who are thinning on top!)

Saturday
8:30am start in Summer / 9am in Winter (see Diary page for changeover date)
Meeting Place: The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich NR2 1TF
This ride can be considered a social ride (normally pace averages between 17-18mph) but we will ride at a pace to suit all present. Ride distance 50-70 miles with a cafe stop half way. Remember the distance doesn't include your ride to the start & back home again.

Sunday
8:30am start in Summer / 9am in Winter (see Diary page for changeover date)
Meeting place: Fiveways Public House, Earlham Green Lane, Norwich NR4 7TE
A group ride of around 30-40 miles with a cafe stop half way. It's run as a social ride at a 14mph pace to suit beginners. Remember the distance doesn't include your ride to the start & back home again.

Monday (Winter)
6:30pm start (see Diary page for changeover date)
Meeting Place: Kings Head, 36 Norwich Rd, Hethersett, Norwich NR9 3DD
Using the same course throughout the dark winter months, a 28 mile group ride at a moderate ride speed to suit all riders. Front & rear lights required.

Monday (Summer)
6:30pm start (see Diary page for changeover date)
Meeting Place: Stephanie's Cafe (now closed), Eaton, Norwich NR4 7BA.
Varying routes of between 25-35 miles at a moderate ride speed to suit all riders.

Mudguards - All club rides
If the roads are wet or rain is forecast then mudguards (inc.rear mud flap) are appreciated by the group. It makes group riding so much more pleasurable and doesn't ruin your cycling kit!
